Tech Free in the Bedroom

More and more of us are using some sort of device in bed and before dozing off.

According to research by the British chiropractic association over half of us are watching television in bed and before sleep.

Some issues with this need to be considered.   Many hours spent hunched over screens can place a huge amount of pressure on the structure of our bodies, this in turn can lead to neck and back issues.

If you need to look at a device make sure you sit up straight with a good supportive pillow behind your spine and the device is at eye level.  This is also important for teenagers with developing spines. They have a tendency to lie on their stomachs with their lower back hyper extended.

It has also been shown that not only do gadgets in bed cause bio mechanical  stress, it can also potentially overstimulate the brain negatively affecting the quality of sleep.
